Wisconsin is open for business! We are standing by to assist the county, state or federal government with COVID-19 calls if requested. Please follow CDC and DHS guidelines and recommendations to stay healthy: practice social distancing, handwashing, self-isolating if symptomatic, and prepare for supply chain shortages such as food and other supplies.
If you or anyone in your household is diagnosed with COVID-19 your entire household must follow the self-quarantine requirements.
The Town of Draper is protected by a Volunteer Fire Department with members ranging in age and experience who serve the community by undergoing training and being on call at all times should an emergency arise.
We would like to welcome Brian DeWall of Winter as our newest member. Brian is Firefighter 1 & 2 trained and brings his great spirit of adventure and public service to our community, in addition to serving the Winter FD. Welcome, and thank you for your service Brian!
We have a newer modern engine (pumper) and just obtained a DNR brush truck that is going into service for fighting grass, brush and forest fires. We also just made the down payment on a great (used) water tender that will arrive in October and be put into service once some plumbing fittings are modified for drafting from our local rivers and lakes. We are also outfitting a box truck with supplies for large fire scenes (ie Hazmat, National & State Forests). We work with the USFS, DNR and other municipal departments in Sawyer County under a Mutual Aid Agreement- this helps spread resources around the county, where rural volunteers are hard to come by.
We appreciate your support and donations. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Chief Paul Zmuda at the number below or talk to one of the DFD members you know.
We have a beautiful large white tent available for public use - we will help you load it and set it up - donations appreciated.
(Please return clean and dry)
Contact the Fire Hall to reserve it for your next outdoor function!
